Supporting Black youth in self-awareness through virtual engagement activities
Urban Triage, Inc. and Black Excellence MMSD brought a series of youth engagement activities to improve Black student engagement and self awareness while being taught virtually. This was done by way of scavenger hunts, prizes, and labs.
On May 18, 2020 we launched a series of weekly online, social media driven activities to engage youth during these unprecedented times of virtual learning. Below are the different activities we organized to engage our youth.
Online Scavenger Hunts
Week 1: Youth Engagement COVID-19 Scavenger Hunt
Participate for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate for Xbox, Playstation, or Amazon by earning the most points. Points can be earned by completing different challenges like searching for a hand sanitizer bottle, posting it on Instagram with the hashtags #BlackExcellenceMMSD and #UrbanTriage and tagging Urban Triage, Inc.'s Instagram page. Week 2: #WashYourHandsWithThat Dance Challenge
Hello we are back with our challenge for Week 2!!! This week's challenge is to complete a dance and also write on your post what you use to stop the spread of COVID-19!
