Urban Harvest Festival

Join us in celebration of growth, sustainability, and community!

We hosted our 2nd Annual Urban Harvest Festival. This celebration marked our second year of recognizing summer achievements and community impact. Grounded in sustainability and growth, the festival honors the collective efforts of funders, volunteers, and community members in empowering vulnerable individuals in the Greater Dane County Area. The Festival took place on September 16, 2023, at our farm located at the Farley Center for Peace, Justice, and Sustainability.

SHUTTLE SERVICE

Shuttle service was available to and from our Farm. Our shuttle services are wheelchair accessible and meet the needs of those differently disabled. We highly recommend signing up for our shuttle services as our farm is in Verona. Keep this in mind for the 3rd Annual Urban Harvest Festival!

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

We enjoyed an evening of Aerial Performers, Stilt Walkers, Children’s Museum Activities, Face Painting, Jugglers, Bouncy Houses, Golf Cart Transportation to Our Field, African Drummers, Live Performance from the Cigarette Band out of Milwaukee, Spoken Word by Local Artists, and a Dance Performance by No Boundaries. There was also FREE Catered Food, FREE Wine, FREE Beer, Live DJ (DJ Pain 1), and Much More!

"I must give a tremendous shout-out to Urban Triage and staff/volunteers. As a 70-year-old, it's a little hard to impress me these days. But, I love it when there is an exception.

I was very impressed with the warm and welcoming atmosphere at the Farley Farm yesterday. Urban Triage, you showed up and out. I take my hat to you with love and appreciation. Ciara was a great MC and she kept things flowing smoothly 👏.

The day was so well planned out with so many wonderful activities for both kids and families. They even had ADA parking and parking lot attendants guiding you where to park. I can't think of one thing that they could have done better in putting this 2nd annual event together. Rita and I just looked with amazement at all the positive energy on the farm!

I've been in Madison since 1971 and I don't remember experiencing a community event that was so much fun and entertaining for everyone.

You could feel the community vibes that folks felt like this was "their" event and they didn't feel like they don't belong (like some had said when attending some of the community events held). It is obvious that Urban Triage is able to reach and engage with some of our most service-needed families. That is a true blessing.

At the event, we're talking about DJ Pain 1 who was outstanding in keeping the music going, a wonderful live band with "Cigarettes Break" out of Milwaukee, the bouncing house for kids, good spoken word performances, juggling, dancing, a beautiful youth dance performance, stilt walking, delicious free food, face painting, tractor rides, shuttle services, free wine and beer for adults, popcorn, free organic vegetables, free pumpkins 🎃, and I probably missed a few activities. It was just a nonstop and moving atmosphere. I know many kids slept well last night as they were a ball of fun to watch running around from one activity to another and seeing so many kids with nothing but smiles on their faces. I'm sure the cotton candy helped them expand their energy.

Let's support Urban Triage because Brandi Grayson the CEO is truly reaching all layers of the community in so many positive ways." - Dennis McClain
