This single mother of six was struggling to provide for her family. She faced financial hardships and the family ended up living in her car, lacking a stable residence. The holiday season was approaching, so feelings of isolation and vulnerability for the family grew. Our Housing Coordinator invested considerable time in finding a suitable home for this mother and her children. Following a thorough search, we identified an affordable and spacious house. The family moved into their new home after successful negotiations with the property owner. This photograph depicts the moment when the mother expresses her gratitude to our Housing Coordinator.
There are a number of stories like this at Urban Triage. In fact, to date this year, we have successfully housed more than 50 individuals and families, supported 129 unhoused individuals and families through our housing navigation services, extended outreach support to 58 of our unhoused neighbors, and offered housing assistance to more than 194 individuals and families.
"I was homeless and in desperate need of assistance when I reached out to Urban Triage's housing navigation staff. They were incredibly supportive, providing me with various housing options and guiding me through the application process. Thanks to their dedication and hard work, I was able to get the keys to my new apartment within just a couple of weeks. I am so grateful to Urban Triage and their staff for helping me through this challenging time." - Housing Navigation Services Program Participant
