Urban Triage, Inc. Announces and Hosts Grand Opening of Their New Office and Community Space

What: Urban Triage, Inc. (“Urban Triage”, “we”, or “our”), with the support of the City of Madison, has secured new community space at 2312 S. Park Street (the old UW South Partnership offices). We are committed to empowering and inspiring breakthroughs and transformation by way of education, Black economic development and leadership in Black families and Black communities while mobilizing community resources to distribute to those most in need. As dedicated advocates for those we serve, we offer community support resources and transformative programming, including but not limited to community support services, transformational education, advocacy, economic empowerment, and cultural opportunities.

We are creating a community space that anchors the Dane County Black community and provides services that celebrate Black culture and heritage. Our new community space will include:

Community Resource and Library

Supporting Healthy Black Families’ Workgroup

Co-conspirator Workgroup

Small Business Technical Assistance

Meeting and Event Rentals

Community Engagement Events

Community Support Services

Civic Engagement Events

Youth Programming

Homeless Outreach

We are raising $100,000 to cover the expense of creating a space for all Black people – a space that is culturally sound, welcoming, creative, and includes all the necessities required to capture and engage Black entrepreneurs, youth, families, and other populations that are often forgotten and most vulnerable.

Urban Triage, along with our presenting sponsor UW Health, will celebrate this success by hosting a ribbon cutting and grand opening event on Sunday, November 15th at our new community space (in the parking lot and virtually to adhere to COVID-19 regulations). Please note, for those attending the event in person, we will be taking PPE precautions. Attendees will be required to wear face masks and only eight people will be allowed in the space at a time, while social distancing. Temperatures will be taken prior to entering the community space, and hand sanitizer will be applied to those entering the space. Tents will be set up outside which will house activities and space for people to relax; however, face masks and social distancing will be required outside as well.

When: Sunday, November 15, 2020. Ribbon Cutting and Opening Remarks will begin at 12:15 pm. The community event starts at 12:00 pm and will end at 2:00 pm. At 2:00 pm, we will be congratulating our Supporting Healthy Black Families’ Cohort 4 graduates which will be a private event.

Where: 2312 S Park Street; Madison, WI  53713
