Madison Fitness Week virtual class with Inner Fire Yoga
Urban Triage

For the third year, Madison fitness studios are coming together to host classes to get Madisonians moving. But this year instead of one week, Madison Fitness Week is lasting a full month. Due to COVID-19, Madison Fitness Week will be completely virtual starting Sept. 12 through Oct. 18, according to an Instagram post. During traditional Madison Fitness Week, area studios offer free classes and events with the purchase of a ticket. In 2019, the majority of ticket sales went to The United Way of Dane County. This year, Madison Fitness Week will benefit Urban Triage Inc., a local nonprofit that according to its website aims to “empower and inspire breakthroughs and transformation by way of education and leadership in Black children, Black women, Black men and Black communities.”

Police Funding Forum
Urban Triage

Since the death of George Floyd on May 25th, there have been consistent protests around the country in his name to highlight the injustices of police brutality, and the killing of Black men and women by police. For far too long people of color have been subject to a system that deems their lives lesser value to their white counterparts. People are rising up to confront the inequality in our justice system. It is time to hear the voices who are fighting on the front lines. It's time to be there for someone you don't know. To amplify those voices, join us on August 15th at 7pm for an important discussion with activist on what they would like to see changed as a result of the ongoing protest.

In Your Corner - Starting and Running Your Hustle
Urban Triage

Gaining access to legal services in the United States is a real problem, and growing income inequality and systemic racism have only served to exacerbated the justice gap. A recent study shows that approximately forty-to-sixty percent of the middle classes’s legal needs go unmet and that eighty percent of low-income individuals can not afford legal assistance. Though the UW Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic’s legal services are free, we know that we can and should do more to address the justice gap in our community. UW Law & Entrepreneurship Program has partnered with Urban Triage, Freedom Inc, and Economic Empowerment Wisconsin to host this event, as well as free office hours for black entrepreneurs and black business owners. After the event we will send out a new registration form where you can reserve a time to speak privately about your legal issues with one of our attorneys.
