Urban Triage is founded and grounded in transformational education and learning that utilizes a framework to support people as they embark on a journey of self-discovery. Our methodology expands self-awareness of the basic structures in which we know, think, and act. From understanding and awareness comes fundamental shifts that directly cause a new kind of freedom and personal POWER, leaving people permanently changed.

"You have changed my life, and I mean that the guidance I received from all of the books, videos, actually practicing what was learned is invaluable. The information you've curated and turned into a class for FREE is beyond unbelievable, and the way you passionately preach and love Black people is so inspiring. How you've created a safe space for Black people to identify and overcome our traumas and connect with each other is POWERFUL. I could go on for days about this woman and her work and how it's given me a new sense of liberation, but I'm going to stop here and say thank you, I believe in you, your mission, and the message, and I'm here for all of it." Urban Triage Accolades:

Urban Triage at the 2025 YWCA Madison Racial Justice Summit:

In September 2025, Urban Triage proudly participated in the YWCA Madison Radical Justice Summit, an inspiring gathering dedicated to advancing racial justice, collective healing, and community empowerment. This year's theme, "Reflect, Connect, Create New Worlds," brought together leaders, activists, and organizations to engage in dialogue, skill-building, and collaborative action.

During the in-person experience, Urban Triage joined breakout sessions, workshops, and community dialogues focused on justice, equity, and cultural resilience. We also celebrated the Madison premiere of Scared Wisdom Sacred Earth, a powerful documentary highlighting Wisconsin's Native American tribes and their deep connection to the land and waters of the Great Lakes.

Our participation reflects Urban Triage's ongoing commitment to uplifting Black communities and honoring diverse cultural traditions through programs like Supporting Healthy Black Agriculture (SHBA), Supporting Healthy Black Families (SHBF), and Supporting Healthy Black Elders (SHBE).

The day concluded with an intergenerational generative dialogue, where attendees shared insights, reflected collectively, and envisioned steps toward a more just and equitable community. Urban Triage is grateful to engage alongside other visionaries, advocates, and community members in this transformative work.

OUR IMPACT

Youth & Family Engagement

We are expanding our reach with the launch of our Youth Transitional Home, now open and serving our community! This initiative provides stable housing and support services for young people navigating homelessness and transitioning out of foster care. Additionally, our Emerging Adults Program is bringing in more young adults with the chance of opportunities to develop skills and leadership while supporting the transitional home's operations.

In October, our Youth Housing Navigation services supported 27 youth facing unstable housing situations, whether aging out of foster care or fleeing unsafe environments. We also held regular Youth Drop-In Hours at 306 Wilson St., offering a safe, welcoming space for immediate resources, guidance, and community connection.

Through focused outreach, we connected 40 families and individuals, and through targeted housing advocacy, we supported 33 families and individuals, helping ensure youth and families have access to the tools and services needed for long-term stability and growth.

Community Reach & Housing Impact

Urban Triage continues to show up strong throughout Dane County, participating in 3 community events and pop-ups to provide vital resources and support where they're needed most. Recently, we connected 200 unhoused neighbors to case management, placed 10 families and individuals into permanent housing, and provided approximately $19,469.06 in rental support to prevent housing loss and promote long-term stability.

Every walk-in is more than a visit; it's a step toward safety, a leap toward hope, and a reflection of the trust our community places in us.

Future Initiatives

We are stepping boldly into the future with initiatives that expand our impact and strengthen our connection to the community.

We have launched our interstate Collective, a HUD-supported partnership with Black-led organizations across Wisconsin to address youth homelessness at the systemic level. At the same time, we're finalizing renovations for our Emerging Adult House, with a press conference and staffing announcement to follow in collaboration with Dane County Human Services.

Looking ahead, we're also excited to unveil a full rebrand of Urban Triage, coming soon, complete with a refreshed brand style and a brand-new website designed to better tell our story, highlight our programs, and engage our community.

These initiatives represent our ongoing commitment to community-rooted, long-term solutions that inspire change and transportation.

Impact Progress

In October, Urban Triage supported 291 community members through our walk-in Drop-In Hours, each seeking connection, stability, and access to life-changing resources. This impact speaks volumes; it reflects not only the growing need in our community but also the deep trust placed in us to show up with consistency, compassion, and without judgment.

Every walk-in is more than a visit; it's a hand reached out for support, a moment of courage, and a step toward transformation. We remain steadfast in our commitment to being a haven and lifeline for those navigating crisis, because our community deserves nothing less.

Urban Triage Agirculture Impact (PRODUCE DISTRIBUTED)

Our dedicated Agriculture Team distributed 752 pounds of organic produce from our farm, nourishing over 201 families in the community. Every delivery reflects our commitment to health, access, and community well-being, growing more than food, we're growing connection and care.
